"At my first audition (when I had completed my acting training) I was
hired to record a “book-on-tape” by Random House. I had about
five minutes to look over the text. I immediately began applying the tools
I had learned from Shane Ann: where was the ‘spine’ of each
thought, how did ideas build, where were the ‘lists’? I marked
up the paper, and was able to draw myself a kind of road map so that when
I auditioned, I was confident that my vocal choices would be specific and
versatile. These very tools landed me the job. I have also used her work
to book national commercials and have incorporated the skills she taught
me in my professional theatre work.
I recently performed the role of Helena in "A Midsummer Night’s
Dream" which is a role I had worked on in Shane Ann’s Shakespeare
class and I am confident that once again it was the work I did with her
that allowed me to be cast in a major Shakespearean role.”
A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Helena - American Repertory Theatre),
Three Sisters (Irina - American Conservatory Theatre), Smashing (Intar
